Fall is officially here. Although for me, and I am sure for you, it feels like it has been here for a while. The mornings have been crisp, sweatshirts have come out of hiding, and the leaves are turning into beautiful red and orange colors.
I am one that loves to decorate for each season. Are you that way too? I think fall decorations might be some of my favorite. Here at Brick House on Green, we are very much advocates for bringing the outdoors indoors. That is why Fall decorations are so beautiful! The different varieties of pumpkins are endless.

5 Ways to Prepare Your Home for Fall
Outside the Home

To prepare your home on the inside, we also need to start on the outside. When the outdoors is ready for the changing season, at least for me, it adds so much to my home. For all of you that have window boxes, filling them with all the fall colors is a must! This one is full of mums, ferns, ivy, and pumpkins. This post walks you through how to make a beautiful and budget friendly fall window box.

Another way to prepare the outside of your home is through creating a Fall wreath for the front of your door. To help make guests feel invited and welcomed, I love having my front porch ready for the season. To be honest, this is still on my to do list. This DIY Fall wreath is exactly what your front porch needs! For more wreath inspiration, check out more of these DIY Fall wreaths.
Inside the Home

Now, let’s step into your home. I think one of the best things is walking into a home that is filled with festive and relaxing scents. Make your home smell like Fall with this simple and easy stovetop simmer pot. If you enjoy giving gifts to others, this would be a great one!

Another way to bring fall into your home is with flowers and arrangements. My mood is automatically boosted when I walk into a room and see a beautiful flower arrangement that goes with the season. Having flowers that are orange and red and having dried hydrangeas around go perfectly with fall. Although wouldn’t it be even better if those fall flowers were in a pumpkin? Check out this pumpkin floral arrangement to see how we created this.

Let’s finish the decorating day and welcome fall even more by hosting a fall get together. One of the many reasons I love cooking and baking and just working with food is because it brings people together. Gathering around a table or in a room with the people you love and eating a meal sparks the best conversations. If you need some inspiration on what to have at your next fall get together, check out this fall charcuterie board.
