A beautiful center piece can brighten any table and really any day. There is endless amount of Spring flowers headed our way soon. The only right thing to do with all those flowers is to create a beautiful Spring floral arrangement.

I find it fascinating how often the society we live in uses flowers. If there is a death, there are flowers surrounding the casket. If a child is welcomed into the world, the new mom is gifted with flowers. Or if someone is ill, we often send some flowers with a card. In our world, flowers are used for all occasions. Isn’t that interesting?
Flowers are so intentional looking. The colors of flowers, looks of them, and their detail are endless.
I love when my husband comes through the door with a bouquet of flowers. I love picking up fresh flowers at the farmers market or planting and growing my own flowers in a garden. Although, something I especially love is picking up flowers at the grocery store when it is the middle of Winter.
The middle and end of Winter is when I crave those intentional flowers. When I get tired of the way the outside looks in the Winter, a beautiful bouquet fixes that.
This Spring floral arrangement is to brighten up your home as we await the warmer weather upon us. It is so close I promise.

How to Have Long Lasting Flower Arrangements
- Stem Cutting – When it comes to cutting the stems, it is important to note that you have to cut the stems. Placing them directly into a vase after buying the flowers will make them not last as long. When cutting flower stems, cut at an angle. Cutting the stems at an angle will ensure better water intake as the stems won’t be flat on the bottom of the vase where they can’t get much water. The flowers will also last longer if you recut the stems every few days.
- Water – Give your flowers room temperature water as soon as possible. As well as change out the water every few days to ensure clean water for the flowers. We all need clean water!
- Flower Food – Flower food usually comes with the cut flowers when you buy them. Adding this food into room temperature will lead to long lasting flowers. I love collecting flower food packets to always have on hand!
- Light – Avoid the flowers being in direct sunlight or intense heat.
- Remove Leaves – This one may seem obvious but remove any leaves that are below the water line. Yes, this will make the bouquet look better but it will also keep bacteria getting into the water.

Tips to Create a Beautiful Flower Arrangement
- A flower arrangement will be more eye catching with different textures in the arrangement. Don’t be afraid of “too much” going on. Especially when you choose seasonal flowers, you really can’t go wrong!
- Having greenery is very important. Greenery helps tie the arrangement together and provides a slight whimsical look it. It also helps go along with number one of having different textures within the flower arrangement.
- Don’t be afraid of a variety of colors. While for some arrangements a color scheme can absolutely work, using an array of colors creates depth in the arrangement.
- Choose a theme. Choosing a theme will help you decide all the flowers, colors, and textures you want to have within the flower arrangement. For example, a Spring arrangement will have lots of pastels because those are the colors of Spring!

How to Create a Spring Flower Arrangement
*For each step where more flowers are added, be sure to cut the stems and cut them at an angle. They say a general rule is that flowers should be about one to two times the height of the vase chosen. This can also vary depending on what look you are going for.
To start, choose your desired vase and fill it with room temperature water and some flower food. The size of this vase will determine how long you keep your flower stems and how many flowers you add in.

For the flowers, start by adding in your greenery. This will keep your other flowers from falling and dropping down when you add them into the vase.

After the greenery, add in the main flowers you chose. Cutting them at varying lengths and dispersing them throughout the vase.

Next, add in the filler flowers. This will help fill the gaps that are left in the flower arrangement. The filler flowers can be in differing color and texture than the main flower chosen. Be sure to cut the filler flowers in different heights as well.
Once the filler flowers are added, take a step back and look at your arrangement. This is when you fuss with the arrangement a bit and make any changes or additions. Try to spin the arrangement and look at it from all sides.

Once you are happy with it, place it somewhere you will see it every day and enjoy it!
