Within the past year or so I have very much prioritized a high protein lifestyle. This looks like starting my day with a high protein breakfast, having 2 more high protein meals within the day, and incorporating high protein snacks when hungry.
Although, within those meals, the one that has really changed the game is a high protein breakfast. Having a high protein meal first thing in the morning has helped me to remain energized throughout my day and keep me fuller for longer.
Now, with a high protein breakfast being so important, it can be hard to know what to eat. I cannot say I am a huge creature of habit. It can get old having just lots of eggs in the morning for breakfast or incorporating a protein powder to try to get enough protein in.
With that being said, these cottage cheese everything bagels can help you get more protein in in the mornings. This recipe is simple, made with only 4 ingredients and it is a quick one to whip up.

How to Make Cottage Cheese Everything Bagels Step-by-Step
To start, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a large mixing bowl, add in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Using a whisk or a spoon, give everything a good stir to combine together.

Next, taking the cottage cheese, measure out 1 1/2 cups into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. There should be no curds throughout the cottage cheese once blended. The texture will be just like yogurt!

Add the blended cottage cheese into the dry ingredient mixture and stir into each other. At this point, it is easiest to use your hands to really work the blended cottage cheese into the dry ingredients.
Once the ingredients are fully combined, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Taking a bit of the “dough,” form it into a ball in your hand. Then, using your thumb, poke a hole in the center of the ball and use your other four finger to smooth the outside of the dough around the hole to create a bagel shape.

Place the bagel onto the lined baking sheet and repeat until there is no dough left. You should get about 6 bagels out of it.
When the bagels are on the baking sheet and all formed, brush a lightly beaten egg on the tops of all of them.

Then, sprinkle on a bit of everything bagel seasoning.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until slightly golden.
Let cool for 5 minutes before placing on a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy!

How to Store Homemade Cottage Cheese Everything Bagels
To ensure bagels remain at their best quality, be sure to not leave them out in the open air for too long!
When storing, place in a zip-loc bag or paper bag and keep on the countertop. Before storing, the bagels should be cooled completely. If they are still a bit warm when added into the bags, they will get soggy.
As well as avoid adding the bagels into the fridge as this will cause them to become staler quicker.
