These strawberries and cream overnight oats are the perfect on the go summer breakfast or even snack! Light, delicious, healthy and made with fresh strawberries.
One of the many reasons that I love Summer is because of all the fresh fruits that are in season. I love bringing things from the outdoors and creating yummy recipes with them. This may sound familiar to some of you because I said something similar in my homemade blueberry sweet rolls post. I will probably be saying that a lot so don’t be surprised if it is constantly repeated! Among all those fresh fruits, strawberries are a favorite of mine. As I’m sure they are many of yours as well.
I recently did a post on strawberries and cream sourdough cookies, and it really got me thinking of how I could incorporate that flavor into other recipes. It is just the perfect summer flavor combination. So, why not put that flavor in the form of overnight oats?
Why You Will Love Strawberries and Cream Overnight Oats
There are many reasons as to why you will love these strawberries and cream overnight oats. Here are just a few of them, but trust me, the list could go on and on.
- Meal Prep Friendly – Summer is a time of vacationing, entertaining the children that are out of school, and just having an overall busy schedule from day to day. With that being said, being able to prep food at the beginning of the week to have it ready for busy mornings is a must. Overnight oats are great to prep ahead of time to have on hand!
- Simple – I think we’re all in agreement when I say I love a simple recipe. A recipe that is straight forward and doesn’t require anything too unique. These strawberries and cream overnight oats are just that. Nothing special needed.
- On The Go – Going along with the first one, these oats are a great on the go option for when you just have to get out the door and quickly chow down. Put them in a jar that travels easily, grab them out of the fridge, and eat these yummy strawberries and cream overnight oats on the way!
- Quick – While this recipe does need some time to sit in the fridge for a bit to get the right texture and consistency, the hands-on part of this recipe goes quickly and does not take long at all.
- Healthy – Having a healthy meal first thing in the morning is really important. Start your day off right with these strawberries and cream overnight oats. They have 20 grams of protein and 5 grams of a fiber filled carb. Add some chia seeds on top and you have a healthy fat!
Best Toppings for Overnight Oats
There are endless options when it comes to toppings for overnight oats. Here are a few that would pair nicely with these yummy strawberries and cream overnight oats.
- Chia Seeds – Like I said above, chia seeds would help make these strawberries and cream overnight oats have a healthy fat. They have so many health benefits – highly nutritionally dense, rich in antioxidants, great for your heart, and they also support healthy digestion. These would also go great mixed in the overnight oats to soak up more of the liquid and create a creamier consistency.
- Shredded coconut – Shredded coconut adds additional flavor and fun texture to overnight oats. Dehydrated coconut would make a great crunch!
- Pumpkin seeds – Pumpkin seeds don’t have a strong flavor which is why they are a great timing. You get the nutritional benefits without sacrificing the flavor!
- Hemp seeds – Hemp seeds are a great beauty food! They support vibrant skin along with being great for your hair and nails. They are also a good source of easy to digest protein!
- Dehydrated strawberries – Adding some additional strawberry flavor and crunch would be a great topping for these strawberries and cream overnight oats!
Ingredients
Oats
Strawberries
Milk – I prefer whole milk, although a non-dairy based milk would work in this recipe as well.
Greek yogurt – I have been loving Fage yogurt! It is perfectly creamy. Use your favorite Greek yogurt. This will help with adding protein and creaminess to the oats.
White chocolate chips – This will help get the “cream” part of this recipe.
Strawberry jam
Tools You Will Need
Jar – This will be what we mix the oats in and then what they set in. I recommend using a small mason jar. It fits in your cupholder and is easy to hold which means even more on the go friendly.

It’s as easy as that!
Storing Overnight Oats
Like said above in the “why you will love” portion of this post, overnight oats are a great meal prep breakfast or treat. With that being said, they last up to 5 days in the fridge when stored in a sealed jar in the fridge. The downside, or maybe bonus to some of you, is that the longer they are in the fridge the softer the oats will get. Those who love their oatmeal softer and creamy will love this recipe even more as the days go on! Also, as time goes on that the oats are sitting in the fridge, be sure to stir before consumption as some of the liquid may begin to separate from the oats.
Strawberries and Cream Overnight Oats
Strawberries and cream overnight oats are the perfect Summery on the go breakfast or mid day pick me up! If you aren't sold already, they can be meal prepped at the start of your week.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup Greek yogurt (I use Fage)
- 2/3 cup milk of choice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tablespoons strawberry jam
- 1/4 cup diced strawberries
- 2 tablespoons white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Start by combining all of the ingredients in a jar or meal prep container. I recommend a mason jar. They are perfect for on the go because they can sit right in your cupholder! 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1/3 cup Greek yogurt, 2/3 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 1/2 tablespoons strawberry jam, 1/4 cup diced strawberries, 2 tablespoons white chocolate chips.
- Next, seal up the jar or container being used, and let set in the fridge for at least an hour or preferrably overnight. The reason overnight is best is because the oats will become softer as time goes on. The fridge is like the "cooking" process!
- Once oats are chilled, stir mixture before if needed and top with desired toppings. I like more diced strawberries and white chocolate chips on mine!
- Enjoy!
